I'm the founder of Phasly and I write the articles on this blog. I'm not a clinician. Every claim in my articles links to the study, guideline or source it came from, and when the evidence is weak or mixed I say so.
Experience
I've worked in tech for over ten years. I started in web development, became a QA and data lead, and today I'm a Director of Engineering Operations and the founder and engineer of Phasly. Checking claims against data is the job I've done for ten years, and it's the same habit I bring to writing about the cycle and training.
I trained on hormonal birth control for over ten years and knew my pattern by heart. When I stopped, my natural cycle changed how training felt from week to week. That is my own experience, and patterns differ from woman to woman. I rebuilt my plan by hand every week, then built Phasly so the app does it, for every stage from the pill to pregnancy, postpartum and menopause.
How I write
I start from systematic reviews, clinical guidelines and randomized trials, and I name the study, the year and the journal. I update an article when new research changes the answer, and the date at the top shows when it last changed. Comparison pages are checked in each app itself and against its website and store listing on the date shown.
