The short answer

CycleFit and Phasly both plan training around your menstrual cycle. CycleFit picks a guided session for your phase each day, using a four-phase model. Phasly uses five phases and a daily check-in. Phoebe, an AI coach you can talk to, plans your workouts, learns your pattern and adapts each session, or you plan them yourself from a library of 290+ exercises. You log sets, reps and weights with your history and personal records. Phasly also covers 10 cycle modes, including pregnancy, postpartum and menopause. CycleFit is live on iPhone today and costs less. Phasly launches in November 2026 on iOS and Android.

The biggest difference: who decides what you train

CycleFit’s site says it “picks” your session for the phase you are in. That is a good fit if you want to open the app and press play.

Phasly is built for women who already have opinions about their training. You can ask Phoebe for a workout, take her plan and swap any move, or build your own session from the library. She remembers what you love, what you skip and what hurts, so the next plan starts from there. If you paste your own program, she follows it and only changes the dose on a bad day.

Logging that shows progress

If you lift, the number on the bar matters. In Phasly every set keeps its reps and weight, and the next session shows what you did last time. Your history and personal records stay in one place, next to your cycle day, so a heavy week before your period reads as context, not as lost progress. We could not find set and weight logging in CycleFit’s listing or site.

Every stage, not one textbook cycle

A four-phase plan assumes a natural, roughly regular cycle. CycleFit goes further than many apps here, with a birth control mode and support for PCOS and irregular cycles. Phasly has 10 modes and plans training for each one, including pregnancy week by week, postpartum recovery with the pelvic floor first, and strength and bone work in menopause.

What the science says, and why it shapes both apps

Research does not show that a fixed phase-by-phase plan builds more muscle. A 2026 randomized trial found the same muscle and strength gains whether training volume followed the cycle or not. Total volume mattered. What is well documented is that many women feel very different across the month. That is why Phasly treats the cycle as a heads-up and lets your daily check-in decide how hard today should be. More in Does cycle syncing actually work?

Which one should you choose?

Choose CycleFit if you want a simple, lower-cost iPhone app that hands you a guided session each day.

Choose Phasly if you want to pick your own exercises, track your weights, talk to a coach who knows your cycle and your history, or you are on a method or in a life stage a four-phase model does not cover.

Common questions

Is Phasly a CycleFit alternative?

Yes. Both plan workouts around your cycle. Phasly is the better fit if you want to choose your own exercises, log your weights, talk to an AI coach or train through pregnancy, postpartum or menopause.

Does CycleFit have an AI coach?

No. As of 24 October 2026 CycleFit has guided sessions and hormone-aware cues, but no AI coach you can talk to. In Phasly, Phoebe plans your workouts, answers your questions and adapts the plan when you tell her how you feel.

Which is cheaper?

CycleFit lists $12.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US App Store with a 3-day trial. Phasly Plus is $14.99 a month or $89.99 a year with a 30-day free trial on the annual plan. The cycle tracker is free.
